A weekend itinerary of late dinners, early mornings and frantic afternoons is tiring just to think about, let alone live through. But venturing from your house on the weekend doesn’t have to be exhausting. The MOJEH Weekend encourages a leisurely afternoon centred around learning a new skill – or honing an existing one. Put your phone on silent (if you can manage it) and get hands-on with expert-led arts and crafts sessions. Dior and Sorbé capture the spirit of craftsmanship in their own ways; the former through couture-inspired timepieces, the latter with a sweet collaboration.
What To Shop
Christian Dior once said: “The ball gown must be the one of your dreams, and must also make you a dream-like creature.” Dior transformed the majesty of the perfect ball gown – one that makes you feel as though fairytales are capable of coming true – into the Dior Grand Bal timepieces, echoing swirling skirts and the craftsmanship of couture. This season, the Maison unveils four new creations in two collections: Dior Grand Bal Muguet and Dior Grand Bal Muguet Fleuri. All timepieces feature a front-mounted oscillating weight decorated with mother-of-pearl set with diamonds, though the Dior Grand Bal Muguet Fleuri adds more sparkle still with tsavorites and sapphires, evoking a dancefloor’s flurry of coloured dresses. What To Do

Get creative this weekend with a roster of workshops hosted by Tashkeel, a studio and art gallery that seeks to empower the region’s creatives. This weekend, workshops include Drop-in & Draw, a one-hour introductory workshop that explores a chosen drawing material – from charcoal and pencils to markers – and allows you to work at your own pace, whether you choose to draw from observation or imagination. Each session tackles a different medium. The weekend’s other workshops include Silk Ribbon Embroidery, Drop-in & Paint, Photo embroidery and a child-friendly Decorate Your Frame pop-up. Drop-in & Draw: Dhs90 per person, 2PM to 4PM on 9 October. See the full schedule here
Where To Eat

Hanu is kicking off the season with a revamped menu. Group culinary director, Chef Kyung Soo Moon, presents dishes driven by seasonality, innovation and the integrity of Korean ingredients. Gujeolpan, for instance, is a platter of nine delicacies including Korean pear, beef tartare, king crab and caviar. Elsewhere, Dolsot Bibimbap brings a fine-dining approach to a beloved staple; Yellowtail Carpaccio is brightened with Jeju Mandarin; and House Cured Soy Salmon Kimbap is teamed with nori and caviar. With a sprawling address atop St. Regis Gardens, Hanu is ideal for alfresco evenings, though its interiors are equally impressive if October’s humidity persists – think moody hues, traditional artworks and an intimate atmosphere fit for date night.
