Miu Miu's spring/summer 2025 collection was an ode to youth and reckless abandon. For autumn/winter 2025, Miuccia Prada takes on the next chapter, celebrating femininity and the meaning of womanhood.
A "reflection of and upon the meaning of women, expressed through clothes," the collection worships the female form through body-hugging garments as well as pieces that could otherwise be deemed androgynous - oversized trench coats, tailored trousers and bomber jackets, though traditionally masculine-leaning silhouettes, are transformed. Previous Miu Miu collections have focused on underwear as outerwear, yet this season sees bras worn beneath clothes, although they are not necessarily concealed - they are conical to emphasise shape and layered under skin-tight knits. By balancing androgynous shapes with satin slips worn falling off the shoulder and cut-out tops that allow the skin to show through, the collection portrays facets of femininity - the subtlety, the power and the sensuality.
Miuccia Prada strayed from the pared-back palette we have come to associate with Miu Miu collections of late, instead opting for a cacophony of mint, orange, mustard and chilli that perhaps allude to the boldness and audacity of femininity. However, the House's usual school uniform-esque grays, blacks and beiges poked through via its now-iconic socks and skirts (this season presented at knee-skimming height rather than the ultra-short mini).
