Where To Go

Head to Hatta this weekend to witness Emirati artist Shaikha Al Mazrou’s installation Deliberate Pauses. The installation, commissioned by the Alserkal Arts Foundation and set against the backdrop of Hatta’s Leem Lake, is part of the Dubai Public Art initiative that aims to expand and strengthen Dubai’s cultural presence. Deliberate Pauses, as the name suggests, encourages a deeper engagement with Hatta’s historical and cultural narratives while also transforming the space into a global open-air art gallery. The artwork comprises five reflective discs placed along Hatta’s hiking trails, almost resembling a portal to a world unknown. Temperatures still allow for an early morning hike in the region, making Hatta’s trail a plausible weekend plan of physical activity and artistic immersion. Learn More
