Tiffany & Co.’s annual high jewellery collection welcomes spring with open arms, unveiling itself through the Blue Book, a tradition that has endured since its first publication in 1845. This year’s edition, Blue Book: Hidden Garden, takes you on a journey through the characters of the season, where butterflies and bees find the flowers just beginning to bloom. While nature is a familiar muse, Chief Artistic Officer Nathalie Verdeille revisits the whimsical stories created by legendary designer Jean Schlumberger through innovative savoir faire, making the collection a reconciliation with the Maison’s inherent soul.
Hidden Garden follows a deliberate arc of renewal, starting with the Monarch story. It captures movement through twisted vines and foliage in platinum and yellow gold, where cushion-cut sapphires sit like deep, oceanic pools. The legendary Bird on a Rock also takes flight once more, perched upon a staggering aquamarine of over 22 carats and surveying a sea of green chrysoprase beads. True to Tiffany & Co.’s transformable spirit, the piece is designed to be worn as both a statement necklace and a brooch.

The avian narrative continues with the Paradise Bird and Parrot stories, where creative freedom is explored more vividly. These pieces are a riot of colour, featuring vibrant Mexican fire opals in the former and a painterly palette of paillonné enamel in the latter which mimics the iridescent flicker of a wing in flight. Nearby, the Bee story offers a more structured perspective; honeycomb lattices in yellow gold cradle diamonds, including a flawless 10-carat centre stone guarded by tiny, hidden golden sentinels, a setting that offers a moment of geometric calm.
Floral expressions bloom in abundance elsewhere, reinterpreting the garden’s most delicate inhabitants. Jasmine and Marguerite deconstruct the anatomy of a flower through platinum braiding and diamonds, while the Bloom suite uses soft pink and purple sapphires to capture the quiet, expectant moment just before a bud unfurls. In a departure from the collection’s cooler tones, these Bloom pieces are crafted in 18k yellow gold, radiating a sun-drenched warmth.
The journey concludes with the Twin Bud and Palm stories, where nature’s ruminations are rendered in vivid Zambian emeralds and Mozambique rubies, respectively. In Twin Bud, sinuous vines trace the skin like fleeting shadows, punctuated by pear-shaped emeralds, while Palm reveals rubies, perfectly matched for their fire, nestled within twisting golden leaves.
