MOJEH sat down with Altaf Almudhayan and Sharifa Alsulaiti, the co-founders of Kuwaiti footwear label Thuna, to talk morning routines, style non-negotiables and how they unwind after hours.

MOJEH: How do you start your day?

Altaf: Herbal tea, a gratitude practice and a quiet look at the day ahead.

Sharifa: Good coffee, movement and a few slow moments before the day begins.

What is your main focus at Thuna?

Altaf: I work on creative direction, which includes campaigns, brand image, and the world we build around each collection for the woman we serve.

Sharifa: My focus is on creative direction, product development and hands-on exploration—sampling materials, testing colours and shaping the details that define the brand’s long-term vision.

What is your summer workout of choice?

Altaf: Walking and staying consistent with my strength training.

Sharifa: Hiking up the mountains.

What does your working wardrobe look like?

Altaf: Relaxed tailoring, neutral basics and breathable fabrics.

Sharifa: The same silhouette, endlessly reinvented—wide trousers, something fitted on top and a shoe that earns its place.

What are your 9-to-5 summer beauty essentials?

Altaf: Moisturiser, lip balm and mascara.

Sharifa: Summer Fridays hydration mist, Sorbè AHA lip exfoliator, Parfums de Marly Delina hand cream, and LMNT electrolytes for hydration.

Where is your ultimate summer destination?

Altaf: Anywhere by the sea—the Italian coast has my heart.

What would your alternate career be?

Altaf: A herbalist, blending old-world remedies with modern wellness. I love anything rooted in nature and tradition.

What do you do when creative blocks happen?

Altaf: I step away and let the idea breathe—a walk, a change of scenery, or simply doing something else for a while.

Sharifa: I travel, explore new places, and immerse myself in architecture, art, and craftsmanship.

How do you unwind at the end of a long day?

Altaf: I switch off with family and a good series.

Sharifa: I spend time with family, enjoy a hot cup of herbal tea, and unwind with a good series or film.
