Leaving the office at dusk rather than under the glaring sun, remarks of “It wasn’t too bad this morning, right?” when discussing the weather, a drive home lit by brake lights as traffic well and truly returns. Shed summer hibernation habits and venture into the vibrancy of the city with an afternoon at a beloved family-friendly institution. If the return to reality has you yearning for a weekend of peace and quiet, engage in introspection at an exhibition that explores memories of a homeland, or unwind at the region’s newest wellness-focused opening. The MOJEH Weekend has your itinerary covered.
What To Shop

Dior is a House steeped in heritage with centuries of stories to tell. These stories have appeared in collections over the years, whether through patterns, silhouettes or materials. Victoire de Castellane, artistic director of Dior Joaillerie, honours heritage through the use of cannage in the House’s limited-edition My Dior collection. Cannage can be traced back to the origins of the House; the pattern adorned the Napoleon III chairs at the first Christian Dior runway show. Fast forward to 2026 and its golden threads weave over green lacquer in a yellow-gold bracelet and ring. The combination extends to a La D My Dior timepiece – the lacquer dial is surrounded by diamonds, with its yellow gold bracelet hand-engraved with the emblematic pattern. All three pieces are exclusive to the Middle East and available in limited quantities. Shop now

What To Do

In The sky held it, the earth remembered, presented by Ishara Art Foundation in collaboration with the Han Nefkens Foundation, the perspective shifts from the individual to the world around them. The exhibition explores how land, water and the cosmos register history, serving as living archives of memory that are separate from the human experience. Shahana Rajani, one of the three participating artists, examines this through a three-channel video installation tracing displaced Indus delta communities who paint murals to memorialise submerged ancestral villages. In the work, Lines That World a River, she uses the image of a dargah (the only structure standing after the villages were submerged in water) as the central talking point. Drawing on narratives from their respective homelands, the creatives reveal that non-human forces are intertwined with human actions, bearing the material residues of environmental change by merely being a passive witness. The sky held it, the earth remembered is on show at Ishara Art Foundation, Alserkal Avenue from 11 September.
