It is officially that time of year again. While most associate a change in seasons with cooler temperatures, holiday blues and the return of the pumpkin spice latte, the industry marks the shift with the arrival of Fashion Month. Kicking off the Spring/Summer 2027 season is New York Fashion Week from 9 to 15 September, where fashion powerhouses prepare for over 70 runway shows, presentations and parties with movers and shakers.

The New York Fashion Week calendar is one of the more stable of fashion month, with minimal movement from year to year. The most notable shake-ups of SS27 are Ralph Lauren and Coach showing off-calendar, Tommy Hilfiger’s return and the arrival of Magda Butrym, whose runway show will coincide with the opening of the brand’s first New York flagship. Connor Ives will make its New York Fashion Week debut this season, having shown at London Fashion Week since 2022.
Proenza Schouler, Tory Burch, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein and Khaite all return to the Big Apple this year. As for newcomers, Diane von Furstenberg’s show on 10 September will introduce Henry Zankov’s first collection for the House. The award-winning director will also show the SS27 collection for his eponymous label, Zankov, later in the week. Thom Browne will close New York Fashion Week on 15 September.

For the first time, official participants are banned from using animal fur in their collections. A fur-free policy was implemented by The Council of Fashion Designers of America in December 2025 in association with the Humane World for Animals and Collective Fashion Justice.
