Amidst the stone pillars of the Palais d’Iéna, Miuccia Prada staged a show that channeled the feeling of being grounded (quite literally) for Miu Miu’s Autumn/Winter 2026 collection. The set, a moss-drenched forest floor transplanted indoors, served as a metaphor for what Prada described as the “small human body in the vastness of the world.” It was a study in intimacy where the act of dressing became a form of self-preservation and a reclamation of agency, almost like a continuation of the sentiment seen previously at the House’s Spring/Summer runway.
The collection leaned heavily into a sense of lived-in history. Prada prioritised textures that felt cherished rather than untouched, think washed cotton poplins, wrinkled leathers and double cashmere that carried a gentle and antique feel to it. The silhouettes played a game of protective proportions, featuring oversized shearling-lined coats and exaggerated fur hats that shielded the wearer, which then contrasted against the vulnerability of tulle and delicate bows reminiscent of lingerie in the other looks.
There was a distinct nod to Miu Miu’s 1990s origins in the designs of the opening looks with pared-back greige mini dresses and high-waisted tailoring that felt naive yet was fully intentional. However, this simplicity was punctuated by flashes of romantic silhouettes and fabrics for the evening. Beaded slides, crystal-embellished belts and shimmering panels provided a hit of after-dark glamour.
Notably, the runway saw a stellar cast. Original muse Chloë Sevigny navigated the terrain in a shearling-trimmed blazer and burgundy clogs, while Gillian Anderson closed the show in a nude flapper shift. By placing these models against the scale of the forest and the marble halls, Prada argued her point: that while we may be small in the grand scheme of the world, we are, in every sense, enough.
