Monday 4 May presented a spectacle for fashion enthusiasts as celebrities from across the globe made their way to the Met Museum for the Super Bowl of Fashion, also known as the Met Gala. With Fashion is Art serving as this year’s dress code, complementing the Costume Art exhibition, attendees were granted a broad canvas to explore. The carpet showcased a range of artistic interpretations, from shimmering red sequinned gowns, in the case of co-chair Nicole Kidman, to black ensembles paired with statement jewellery that told a story. There were more wearable looks seen on stars like Coco Jones and Margot Robbie, whose gowns kept embellishments to a minimum without scrimping on star quality.
If you couldn’t make it to New York this time and are looking for a spirited theme for your weekend dinner party, a Met Gala-inspired evening will not disappoint. Here is MOJEH’s edit to get you started on your weekend wardrobe.
