The red carpet is being rolled out, dresses are being steamed and celebrities are settling into The Mark ahead of the Met Gala on 4 May. Every year, celebrities descend in droves to The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City to attend the annual fundraiser in support of The Costume Institute and its associated exhibition. The 2026 exhibition is titled Costume Art and the event’s dress code is Fashion Is Art; Venus Williams will co-chair the event alongside Beyoncé and Nicole Kidman.
Venus Williams attended her first Met Gala in 2008 under the theme Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy and wore a silver Carolina Herrera gown. After a 13-year break, she attended in 2021 in a striking red Prabal Gurung gown and returned a year later for In America: An Anthology of Fashion in a Chloé suit.
