Opened in 2022, Jumeirah Muscat Bay is the brand’s first hotel in Oman, and the setting only strengthens what they already do so well. For a quick escape, the location is difficult to rival. Close enough to home yet removed from the pace of Dubai or Doha, here you are surrounded by nature and steeped in history, with centuries-old seaports and storied souks close by. The shift in setting doesn’t mean sacrificing atmosphere, though, with the hotel’s signature restaurant, Brezza, bringing a social, seafood-led energy, alongside Zuka, its relaxed beachside offering, and a handful of other dining options to carry you from dawn to dusk.
The resort is tucked into a private bay in Bandar Jissah, a 40-minute drive from Muscat airport. The Hajar Mountains rise behind it, while the turquoise tide of the Gulf of Oman stretches out ahead. On arrival, guests are greeted by sea views that come as standard across all 206 rooms, while summerhouses with private pools and beach access offer an added layer of privacy for those seeking it. The design does much of the work in drawing your attention away from everyday life and back to nature, with sandy tones and subtle nods to Omani craftsmanship keeping the focus exactly where it should be: on the coastline.
After a morning spent soaking up the sun at the pool, the Talise Spa is the natural next step, its hammam and hydrotherapy circuit setting a slower tone. Top of the list? The Signature Hammam Ritual, which begins with a black soap application on a heated marble slab before moving into a full-body exfoliation, a hair-washing ritual, and the massage-style application of purifying masks for both face and hair.
