Gathered at the National Museum of Qatar in Doha, renowned designers, artists and actors came together to celebrate the seventh annual FTA Prize, held in the presence of FTA Honorary Chair Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser and FTA Co-Chairs Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and Tania Fares. It was a night to remember as the seven talented winners were announced along with two noteworthy honorary awards, the Lifetime Achievement Award and Trailblazer Award, presented to Miuccia Prada and Zuhair Murad respectively.
There were a total of 21 finalists across seven different categories. This year, Youssef Drissi’s Late For Work secured the Ready-to-Wear Designer category. The Moroccan designer is celebrated for creating designs with shapes and cuts intended to express the complexities of personality. Another well-deserved win was in the Jewellery Designer category, with Farah Radwan taking the title for her brand FYR Jewelry. Known for creating modern heirlooms – pieces designed to introduce heritage into the contemporary world – her brand carries an essence that resonates with the regional audience.
The awards ceremony also featured multiple performances, with Palestinian singer Saint Levant and American singer Chaka Khan taking to the stage. A memorable night not just for the winners, but everyone participating, the FTA Prize celebrated creativity in all its glory.
