Victoire de Castellane is not simply the designer behind Belle Dior, the latest high jewellery collection for the House – she is the force who has, over time, recast Dior Joaillerie into something closer to a living composition than a static discipline. As artistic director of Dior’s high jewellery division, she treats jewellery less as a fixed object and more as a shifting interplay of material, colour and movement, where stones and metal behave like elements in motion, constantly changing character as they are seen and worn.
For 2026, Castellane presents Belle Dior, a haute joaillerie collection drawn from the House’s enduring and evolving heritage. It returns to treasured themes of femininity, gardens and couture fantasy; dreamlike imagery is translated into finely worked gold and gemstones, holding the beauty of nature in precious metals and stone.
Comprising fifty-seven pieces, the collection unfolds as a series of imagined landscapes. Braids – a recurring signature in Castellane’s work – are reworked as pendants that move vertically, echoing the flow of falling fabric, flowering stems and celestial motion. Gold, diamonds and coloured gemstones come together in compositions that suggest a weightless botanical world, where floral forms seem to be in constant bloom.
A more symbolic dimension appears in the Soleil Céleste set, which references Christian Dior’s interest in divinatory imagery. Yellow diamonds, stars and moons carved from black opal doublets set on turquoise are arranged across a bib necklace, ring, earrings and bracelet that converts into a choker, and a brooch designed to be worn in the hair. The pieces function as interchangeable talismans, designed around transformation and multiple forms of wear.
While the collection is framed through familiar Dior motifs – enchanted gardens, couture silhouettes and celestial references – it is presented as a chain of visual propositions. Engaging with each piece creates a sensation that feels slightly off-centre, as though scale and expectation are constantly shifting. At moments, it recalls the whimsy of Alice in Wonderland, where nothing quite stays fixed and size, role and meaning slip from one form into another without warning. In that same spirit, a jewel here comes alive like the backdrop of a familiar and much-loved fantasy. Belle Dior pays homage to Monsieur Dior’s superstitious nature by incorporating elements from his personal collection of lucky charms – a star, sprigs of lily of the valley, golden charms and a four-leaf clover – that he would carry in his pocket.
