Dario Vitale Has Been Appointed Creative Director Of Emporio Armani

A new chapter for Italian designer Dario Vitale

Following his brief tenure at Versace, Dario Vitale has been appointed creative director of Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani Accessories. The designer, who steps into the role with immediate effect, will be the first outside of the Armani family to take the helm of any of the House’s labels.

“I am honoured to take on this dual role across Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani, and deeply grateful to Silvana and Leo for welcoming me into their world,” said Dario Vitale. “Armani has a powerful legacy and unmistakable design language; a heritage that has spanned decades and shaped fashion history. I approach this next chapter with a deep sense of responsibility and excitement as we build upon that rich foundation, defining a new era together.”

The appointment follows a turbulent period in Vitale’s career. The designer exited Versace after just eight months, following the House’s acquisition by Prada Group – his former employer during his tenure at Miu Miu. His final work for Versace, the Spring/Summer 2027 collection, garnered critical acclaim for tapping into founder Gianni Versace’s visual codes with ease.

All eyes now turn to Vitale’s debut collection for Emporio Armani, as the industry waits to see how he will leave his mark on the storied Armani lineage.
