Chopard reinterprets Happy Diamonds icons in honour of the collection’s 50th anniversary, marking the milestone with ambassadors Bella Hadid and Liu Wen

In celebration of Happy Diamonds’ 50th anniversary, Chopard presents a campaign featuring models and Chopard ambassadors Bella Hadid and Liu Wen, who together embody the spirit of the House. Showcasing the new Happy Sport The First timepiece and Happy Diamonds jewels, the diamond-adorned duo capture their duality – sensual and elegant, bold and feminine.

Sporty timepieces are often associated with male collectors, boasting minimalist colourways and hardy construction. Meanwhile, precious gemstones and dainty details feature prominently across women’s timepieces in a contrast as old as time.

Caroline Scheufele, Chopard co-president and artistic director, disrupted the world of watchmaking in 1993 with the creation of Happy Sport: a timepiece designed for women, by a woman, that marries the worlds of sport and femininity. The Happy Sport timepiece was the first to combine steel and diamonds; not only do diamonds feature in the dial, but they dance freely within it, moving with the wearer and representing the freedom of femininity.

Now, the Maison honours the spirit of the original with Happy Sport The First, a reinterpretation of an icon that features a silver-toned dial punctuated by midnight-blue Roman numerals, sword-shaped hands and the emblematic pebble-link bracelet inspired by the sea-rounded stones. Happy Sport The First reinterprets the icon in Lucent Steel, two-tone Lucent Steel and ethical yellow gold; each is available in 26mm and 33mm iterations, with five and seven free-moving diamonds inside the dial, respectively.

The joy of freedom extends to new Happy Diamonds creations, with rectangular pendants smoothed with bevelled edges and expanded to allow the diamonds more space to dance between sapphire crystals. Happy Diamonds was created in 1976 when the Maison was inspired by sunlight shimmering on the spray of a Black Forest waterfall; freeing diamonds for the first time, Chopard’s dancing decadence has become synonymous with joy, femininity and freedom. The new collection features pieces in ethical yellow, rose and white gold, and with  pavé-set diamonds. A high jewellery pendant completes the collection – seven happy diamonds are surrounded by trapeze and emerald-cut diamonds, all housed in an elongated silhouette.
