Fashion month is seemingly faster than ever this year – Milan is now done and dusted, Paris is already in motion, and one can’t help but pause to reflect on the Milanese magic. From high-profile creative director debuts to Kate Moss striding back onto the runway and the eyebrow-raising moment of Paris Hilton and Anna Wintour turning up in the same Gucci ensemble, Milan reminded us why we love it: for its ability to make every moment memorable and impossible to say goodbye to. Here are some of our favourite highlights from a week that had the fashion world talking.
Moschino
Moschino AW26 was a feast for the senses: prints and patterns danced across jackets, skirts and trousers in unexpected combinations. Brooches punctuated looks like playful punctuation marks, each one turning an outfit into a statement.
One can’t help but notice the miniature churros handbag, chocolate dripping just enough to make you crave an indulgence during the whirlwind of fashion week.
Dolce & Gabbana
Dolce & Gabbana always brings out the Dolce Vita woman, and AW26 was no exception. The collection celebrated confidence and glamour with a striking focus on black, which dominated almost every look. Pinstripe suits were cinched at the waist, creating sharp contrasts, while sheer fabrics added a almost boho edge to the classic Dolce aesthetic.
Giorgio Armani
Sharp tailoring, flowing trousers and layered outerwear stole the show. Green, metallics and iridescent fabrics added a playful pop against the sleek, clean silhouettes, while velvet made a welcome comeback, adding tactile richness and reminding us just how long it’s been since we’ve seen it thrive on the runway.
Marni
Marni leaned into quirky experimentation, with pieces featuring circles, cut-outs, and unexpected perforations. Those with a touch of trypophobia might have found certain looks challenging to behold, but for everyone else, the collection was a delight: layered, textured and full of playful dimension. Oversized knits, patchwork fabrics and sculptural details created a runway that was inventive, tactile and, frankly, unique.
Gucci
You can’t talk about Milan without highlighting Demna’s ready-to-wear debut at Gucci. Not only did he breathe fresh energy into the House, but the show reached a high point when Kate Moss closed the runway in a glittering backless gown – a moment instantly etched into fashion memory and, for those who know Gucci well, her presence was symbolic.
Adding to the buzz, Anna Wintour and Paris Hilton arrived in the same dress, seated on opposite sides of the runway on a slight tilt, creating one of the season’s bizarre moments and leading the audience to debate over whether it was an intentional move or a fashion faux pas.
