Specialising in customised fine jewellery, we catch up with the eponymous founder of Hiba Jaber to talk the importance of routine and how the key to the perfect job is doing it your own way.
I WAKE UP… at around 7am. It gives me enough time to settle into the day, organise my thoughts and start off with a clear mind.
MY MORNING ROUTINE NORMALLY CONSISTS OF… my beauty routine, praying, eating breakfast and then making my way to the office.
I’M RESPONSIBLE FOR… running my fine jewellery business, Hiba Jaber. My role spans across designing, making key strategic decisions and overseeing the operations that keep the brand moving and growing.
MY TYPICAL DAY… starts with a specialty coffee from the café near the office, going through emails, recapping with the team followed by meetings.
MY WORKDAY WARDROBE CONSISTS OF… simple, comfortable staples that I can mix and match as well as dress up or down.
MY GO-TO BEAUTY LOOK FOR THE 9-5 LOOKS LIKE… light BB cream, concealer, blush, mascara and eyeliner and usually a neutral lipstick.
FOR LUNCH I EAT… it depends on the day, but it usually includes a salad and a main dish, focused on protein.
WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY JOB IS… that I do what I love, and I can engineer it to include doing more of what I enjoy. I love travelling, interacting with my customers and managing my lovely team.
AND THE THINGS I ENJOY THE LEAST ARE… the challenges that arise along the way, but they are part of the process and they help me, as well as the brand, to grow.
WHEN I GET HOME… I usually head straight to my workout, then I’ll go out for a bit. Once I am back at home, I eat, shower and aim to get into bed early, with some downtime and a little reading to unwind.
I COULDN’T LIVE WITHOUT… music.
WHEN I FEEL STRESSED I… usually go for a run or a walk with music on. Moving and listening helps me clear my mind.
IF I WASN’T IN MY CURRENT POSITION, I WOULD BE… a jewellery or fashion buyer.
